Sales of breakfast rolls in Ireland have diminished in recent months due to the slowdown in building. Not listing one of her many wishes as world peace but an uptake in sales of Irish produced sausages, white pudding and anything that increase your chances of collecting enough cholesterol to give you a small heart attack, New Jersey Rose Of Tralee contestant Rita Talty performed a rendition of Pat Short's classic Jumbo Breakfast Roll. Although her passion for the Save the Roll campaign is unquestionable, the 25 year old admitted that she hasn’t even eaten the delightful baguette. "I wouldn't eat it. I eat sausage and stuff, but not all together," she told a shocked audience. Can Rita taste success in Tralee tonight? Tues 8pm RTE1
